Congratulations to EMT Luster and Paramedic Inzucc Congratulations to EMT Luster and Paramedic Inzucchi on a recent cardiac arrest save. EMT Luster and Paramedic Inzucchi responded to a residential address for a patient complaining of ongoing abdominal pain for two weeks.
Once in the ambulance, the patient started to not feel well and became unresponsive, pulseless, and apneic. The crew initiated CPR, and defibrillation pads were applied - ventricular fibrillation was noted on the monitor. The patient was defibrillated into a normal sinus rhythm and woke up fully alert and oriented.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the patient was taken to the cardiac cath lab and had a 99% LAD occlusion. They have since been discharged from the hospital alert and oriented with no neurological deficits.

Congratulations to EMT Baldwin, Paramedic Horne, S Congratulations to EMT Baldwin, Paramedic Horne, Senior Paramedic Infante, and Lieutenant Fiske along with NBFD engine 5 and NBPSTC Dispatchers for successfully resuscitating a patient in cardiac arrest.
The patient suffered an unwitnessed arrest with bystander CPR being performed on scene prior to first responder arrival. Upon arrival of NBFD/NBEMS, the patient was found to be in ventricular fibrillation. The patient was defibrillated twice, with one administration of Epinephrine and intubation prior to the patient regaining ROSC. The patient has since made an incredible recovery and has been discharged from the hospital alert and oriented and neurologically intact.

Strong work by Paramedic Carias and EMT Luster alo Strong work by Paramedic Carias and EMT Luster along with NBFD Engine 5 on a recent cardiac arrest save! The patient presented with chest pain and diaphoresis after moving some items at home. The EMS crew performed a bedside 12 lead electrocardiogram which revealed an apparent ST-elevation myocardial infarction indicated by extensive "tombstone" ST elevation septal/anterior/posterior and reciprocal changes inferiorly. The patient was administered Aspirin and subsequently went into ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and cardiac defibrillation were immediately provided, and the patient regained consciousness with a Glasgow Coma Scale of 15 (fully awake and aware). While in transport, an alert notification was made when the patient had another episode of unresponsiveness / ventricular fibrillation. The patient was shocked again and returned with a Glasgow Coma Scale of 15 (fully awake and aware). The patient went to the cardiac cath lab with an occlusion to the left anterior descending artery and was discharged home three days later. Door to balloon time was 29 minutes.

Outstanding care. Great work!
